REPLICA is the first major collaboration between digital artist MCHX and composer and sound designer Peter Bayne.

It imagines the translation or replication of light and color with sound. Half of the collection takes immersive color field abstractions and synesthetically maps them onto sonic landscapes. The other half reverses the flow of the code switching, using the sound world to generate the visual plane by means of an audio-reactive AI model created in StyleGan.

The result is a pure exploration of how both seeing and hearing can be boundaryless and anti-hierarchical from the perspective of both the artists and the viewers.

The collection drops on Foundation August 17th, 2022.
